KISSIMMEE, Fla. — A Kissimmee man is behind bars after investigators said he tried to meet an underage girl for sex.
Kevin Cuevas-Segarra was charges with traveling to meet a minor for sex.
The 12-year-old victim told deputies that on Wednesday, she was walking to her bus stop when Cuevas-Segarra made polite conversation as he was landscaping a yard.
He asked for her phone number but she got scared and gave him her sister’s number instead.
When he called her sister, the incident was reported to deputies.
Deputies said the suspect sent explicit text messages to someone he thought was the girl, but he was actually dealing with a detective.
He agreed to meet the girl, but was arrested by deputies instead.
