Deputies search for robbers who targeted Orlando liquor store

ORLANDO, Fla. — Orange County deputies need help catching the men who they believe robbed the same liquor store four times this year.

Deputies have caught two of the alleged robbers, but are still trying to find three more.

They don’t know why University Wine and Spirits on Dean Road and University Boulevard keeps getting hit.

Raw: Surveillance of store robbery

The store has been held up in March, August, October and November.

Surveillance video shows the latest robbery a few days ago.

No one has been injured, but in each robbery, the men have been armed.

Some have threatened the clerks and taken off with cash.

Detectives said the clerk in the most recent holdup thought he was going to die because of some of the threats.

The sheriff’s office is working to spread the word about the robberies because that’s what helped them catch two of the alleged robbers.

“They see these guys in the community. This person could be somebody’s neighbor, could be somebody’s friend, but they’re tired of Orange County being victimized so they’re reaching out saying, hey I know this guy,” said Detective Greg McQuitter.

The sheriff’s office has beefed up patrols in the area while it tries to figure out why the liquor store keeps being targeted.
