ORLANDO, Fla. — A new Disney Cruise Line island destination will welcome guests to the Bahamas next year.
Earlier this month, Walt Disney World announced that Lighthouse Point will start its opening season in the summer of 2024.
The cruise destination is on the island of Eleuthera and will feature Bahamian culture in its design. Local artists helped to create folklore characters and the history of the Bahamas in architecture.
In addition to honoring the culture, guests can see a focus on sustainability and nature in the designs.
The beach retreat will include the following family-friendly activities:
- A beach on the east side of the island
- A Bahamian art and culture pavilion
- A water play area
- An adult-exclusive beach
- A Little Mermaid-themed kids’ club
- New Port Adventures
Disney plans to give more updates on this cruise destination in the near future.
