Neighbors called police early Sunday after they saw two people lying on the side of the road.

Young said the scene was one of the most gruesome he had ever witnessed.

He also said it would be a tough case to crack because it happened around 1-2 a.m. and no witnesses have come forward.

The person who called 911 reported a hit-and-run but the situation was much worse.
