Driver hospitalized after losing control of SUV, crashing into Osceola County home

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Troopers said a driver is in the hospital after his SUV smashed into an Osceola County home, and then caught fire.

Investigators said eight people inside the home, located near the intersection of Marebella Drive and Camino Real Drive, when the crash happened but none of them were hit.

Jose Soto said he saw the moment the SUV sped through his neighborhood, on the sidewalk and crashed into a home.

“[It] sounded like bomb,” Soto said.

Florida Highway Patrol said the driver of the Jeep possibly had a medical episode and lost control, speeding onto the sidewalk and into the home.
