It’s just to the south of where another shipwreck was found back in November after Hurricanes Ian and Nicole.

Volusia County Beach Safety officials say the area had always been a known debris field, but they never knew what was there until now.

“This is the first time we’ve seen in the past 20 years something unearth,” Beach Safety Captain A.J. Miller said. “Definitely resembles an old shipwreck about 20 to 30 feet.”

Miller says a team of archeologists from the state will be in to map the wreckage and examine the ship Monday.
