SANFORD, Fla. — Family, friends and police gathered Tuesday night to plead for answers in the death of a beloved store owner.
It’s been three weeks since Joshua Hur, 63, was shot and killed outside Kim’s Food Store in the Goldsboro section of Sanford on West 4th Street and Poplar Avenue.
Hur owned the store for 13 years. He and his family came to the United States from South Korea in 1993.

Last week, police released three pictures from surveillance video of people they wanted to talk to in case those people saw anything suspicious.
They were some of the last people to see Hur alive.
Police identified a woman in the pictures but still would like two men seen in the pictures to come forward and tell police what they know about the case.
Police want to reiterate that the men aren’t suspects.
Dozens came out to remember Hur at the vigil.
“He was the type of person that wouldn’t hurt a flea,” said Michelle Adams, a friend of Hur’s.
Hur’s son, Caleb Hur, spoke publicly for the first time about his father’s killing.
“My dad was a good man and he didn’t deserve what happened to him,” he said. “Have the courage to help us catch those who murdered my dad.”
Hur was killed shortly after closing the store. He was about to head to a church service.
Hur was an elder at The Green Hill Church in Orlando, and his family said he rarely missed a service.
Sanford’s police chief said it’s time to break the code of silence and people should not be afraid to come forward and talk about crimes in the community.
