Family escapes burning home in Oviedo

OVIEDO, Fla. — Flames ripped through a Seminole County home early Wednesday, forcing a family to flee to safety.

The fire broke out at a house along Worthington Court off of North Pine Avenue in Oviedo shortly after 2 a.m.

The Oviedo Fire Department told Eyewitness News the fire appeared to start in the garage area before spreading.

Family members and their two dogs escaped the burning home with no injuries.

The fire marshal is looking into the cause of the fire.

As of 5:30 a.m., crews with Oviedo Fire and Seminole County Fire Department remained on scene.
