PALM BAY, Fla. — Joshua Bennett’s family is remembering him as a generous, adventurous father who cared deeply for his wife and four children after his death during this week’s flooding in Palm Bay.
Bennett, 34, died after his vehicle became submerged in a river, according to his family. Relatives have started a GoFundMe fundraiser to help his wife and children with housing, care and other needs.
“Josh was generous, adventurous, and always wanted to make sure the people around him felt comfortable and cared for,” the family wrote on the fundraising page.
Remembering a husband and father
Bennett leaves behind his wife, a son and three daughters, according to the fundraiser.
“He loved his family deeply, especially his children,” relatives wrote.
The family described his death as sudden and heartbreaking, leaving them to navigate both their grief and the financial challenges ahead.
Fundraiser focuses on stability and care
According to the fundraising page, Bennett’s three daughters have disabilities and require consistent specialized care. His wife is a stay-at-home mother who has dedicated herself to caring for their children.
Organizers say donations will help provide a stable home and continued access to the care the children need.
“Our biggest priority is making sure they have a safe, stable home and that their needs continue to be met during this incredibly difficult transition,” the family wrote.
The fundraiser is titled “In Memory of Joshua Bennett.”
