FLAGLER COUNTY, Fla. — Investigators with the Flagler County Sheriff’s Office finished excavating the Toscana construction site Saturday where human remains were found July 18.
Authorities said the team determined that they did not need to search any more of the site.
During the excavation, the crew recovered about 90% of a human skeleton.
Scientists from the University of South Florida’s Anthropology Department assisted FCSO detectives because the area was large.
FCSO, Florida Department of Law Enforcement and the medical examiner’s office paused their search of the site last week. The remains were found by construction workers.
FCSO’s major case unit continues to investigate the case.
