Florida reports 176 coronavirus deaths, almost 3,700 new cases

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health said Friday that another 176 people have died from illness linked to COVID-19, bringing the state’s death toll to 12,658.

Officials also reported 3,650 new cases of the virus, an increase from the 2,583 daily cases reported in Thursday’s data.

Since the pandemic began, the total number of coronavirus cases in Florida stands at 658,381.

“Coronavirus

Of the 176 latest deaths reported statewide, 25 involved Central Florida residents, including eight in Brevard County. Orange, Lake and Seminole counties added four new deaths. Osceola and Volusia counties both reported 2 news deaths. One New death was reported in Sumter County.

Polk, Flagler and Marion counties all reported no new deaths since Thursday.

To date, the number of negative tests recorded by state health officials totals 4,218,375, an increase of 22,847 since Thursday.
