ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health reported 4,794 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday.
This lowering in the state’s daily case total follows three straight days, with more than 6,000 cases reported in Florida.
Of the new cases reported, 969 were in Central Florida.

Records show 2,081,826 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Florida since the start of the pandemic.
State health officials also reported 22 virus-related deaths on Sunday.
Of the new deaths reported for the state, none of the people were residents in Central Florida.

COVID-19 vaccination efforts also continue across the state.
Records show 6,208,000 people have received a COVID-19 vaccine shot in Florida. A total of 9,546,777 vaccines have been administered, including single and two-dose shots.
