Florida reports more than 6,200 new COVID-19 cases, 149 deaths

ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida reported a total of 6,236 new COVID-19 cases on Thursday and 149 additional deaths statewide.

Of the latest deaths, 28 were reported in Central Florida including nine in Polk County, five in Orange and Volusia counties, four in Marion County, three in Brevard County and one each in Seminole and Lake counties.

The state’s total death toll is now 9,047 with 8,913 of those being Florida resident deaths.

Marion: 6,921 (+128)
