Florida reports more than 6,600 new COVID-19 cases, 103 virus-related deaths on Sunday

ORLANDO, Fla. — The Florida Department of Health reported 6,624 new COVID-19 cases on Sunday.

Of the new cases reported, 1,449 were in Central Florida. Orange County added the most cases with 331.

State records show 1,777,983 COVID-19 cases have been recorded in Florida since the start of the pandemic.

Officials also reported 103 virus-related deaths on Sunday, including six people who were not Florida residents.

Of the new deaths reported, eight were in Central Florida. Brevard County reported the most deaths, with five people.

State records show 28,161 people have died in Florida from coronavirus complications since the start of the pandemic.

Florida has also administered 2,579,175 COVID-19 vaccines, including 130,464 does given on Saturday.
