Florida troopers expect busy roads in Central Florida for Labor Day

ORLANDO, Fla. — Florida Highway Patrol troopers said there will be plenty of traffic for drivers on Labor Day.

Millions of Floridians will travel a good distance this weekend – an average of at least 50 miles from home.

Troopers will be out on the roads Monday, focusing their attention on impaired and aggressive drivers.

“Don’t speed. Be cognizant of where you are driving. Don’t cut other folks off. Just show some courtesy to other people out there on the highway, so everybody gets to where they want to go safely,” said Capt. Peter Bergstresser with FHP.

Officials said Tuesday morning will be hectic for drivers since most people will be heading back home.

Troopers said it’s important to be patient and put away any unnecessary distractions.
