Former Eatonville mayor must serve full probation sentence, judge rules

A judge denied the motion to end former Eatonville Mayor Anthony Grant’s probation sentence.

Grant appeared in court today seeking to end his probation sentence. He said he already completed more than 500 hours, and that most of his community service hours came from helping disabled Eatonville Councilwoman Marilyn Scoinons.

Scoinons vouched for him during the hearing.

Grant was sentenced in 2017 to four years probation and 400 hours of community service for tampering with the city’s election in 2015.

He is accused of forcing people to fill out absentee ballots for him, which helped him with the election.

Grant was removed from office after he was indicted.
