PUTNAM COUNTY, Fla. — A Putnam County jury has found former Marion County Fire Rescue Paramedic Chief Murrel Liverman Jr. guilty of lewd and lascivious molestation of a victim younger than 12 following a two-day trial.
According to prosecutors, Liverman was arrested on the child sexual abuse charge while applying to become a deputy with the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office.
The case was investigated by the Putnam County Sheriff’s Office. Assistant State Attorneys Deborah Rothenberg and Alexander Gilewicz prosecuted the case on behalf of the State of Florida.
Circuit Judge Alicia Washington presided over the trial and is scheduled to sentence Liverman on Oct. 29, 2026.
Prosecutors said Liverman faces a minimum of 25 years to life in prison for the conviction.
No additional details about the victim or the circumstances of the case were immediately released.
