ORLANDO, Fla. — Investigators said four people were arrested following a home invasion that started as a hook up from the website Backpage.com
The victim believes the women who showed up to his home early Sunday morning were in on the plan.
"He had some online dating and some ladies come over and I guess in the wee hours, in the morning," said an unidentified neighbor. "They had other plans."
According to Orlando police, Ted Nazario met Kayla Clancey on Backpage.com and gave her his address so she and friend Nicole Lester could come over.
Investigators said when Nazario opened his door, an armed man, identified as Carrell Smith, came in with the women and held Nazario at gunpoint. Nazario was forced to undress and get into the bathtub.
Police told Channel 9 the suspects took his watch, cellphone, computer and televisions.
"Normally this is a very quiet, quiet neighborhood. Very quiet," the neighbor said.
Officers were able to catch up with the suspects on State Road 408 and a brief pursuit ensued. The chase ended when the vehicle ran out of gas, according to police.
Clancey, Lester, Smith and the alleged getaway driver, Simon Shackelford, were arrested and booked into the Orange County Jail.
