GROVELAND, Fla. — Groveland residents and businesses will see an increase in utility rates beginning Oct. 1, with the changes appearing on bills received in November.
City officials said the increase is part of a multi-year plan approved by the City Council in 2024 to fund major water infrastructure improvements, including new water and treatment plants, renovations to existing facilities, water main replacements and updated equipment.
Under the new rates, monthly base charges will increase by $1.10 for potable water, $2.57 for sewer service and $0.55 for irrigation service.
The city also reminded customers that it now uses a tiered rate structure, which charges higher rates as water usage increases. Officials said the system encourages water conservation and helped Groveland qualify for more than $70 million in Florida Department of Environmental Protection grants for infrastructure improvements.
