ORLANDO, Fla. — Tuesday was “407 Day” in Central Florida to celebrate and help local businesses.
The city of Orlando launched the #407DAY initiative to drive business to local restaurants that have been hit hard by the COVID-19 pandemic. The day is a play on the local area code.
Channel 9’s Joe Kepner talked to some owners who said they had an increase in business throughout the day. But they also said much more is needed to keep restaurants and small businesses afloat until life returns to normal.
Joe also found a local shirt company partnering with restaurants to sell shirts. They cost $25 and $10 dollars from each purchase will go to the restaurant with another $2 donated to Second Harvest Food Bank.
Purchases can be made at OrlandoMerchStore.com.
