Heavy rain in Brevard County, gradual warming on the way for Central Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. — Sunday’s weather was a tale of two cities, or more like counties.

While many Orlando neighborhoods had little to no rain, Brevard County was soaked with rain most of the morning and some in the afternoon. There were over two inches in spots.

Meteorologist George Waldenberger said this influx of showers was because a compact low-pressure area formed near the coast and generated a highly focused batch of rain.

That low will move east and away from us over the next few days. The result will be quiet weather and a gradual warm-up to the 80s.

By the end of the week, another front will give us a chance of showers and some even cooler weather for next weekend.
