Here’s how to celebrate Earth Day 2022 in Central Florida

There are 365 days a year on Earth, but there’s one special day each year where we aim to honor and protect it.

Earth Day kicks off Friday. There are plenty of obvious ways to show your love for the planet: pick up trash, plant a tree.

Here in Central Florida, there are plenty of opportunities to not just clean and make the world a better place, but also mingle, learn and eat Earth-friendly food.

ORLANDO

Central Florida Earth Day, the largest and longest-running Earth Day festival in Central Florida, returns to Lake Eola Park Saturday from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m.

The Vegan Earth Day Festival will take place on April 30 from 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. at Persimmon Hollow Brewing in Lake Eola. There will be food, drinks, workshops, art, crafts and music. Click here for more information.

LAKE UNDERHILL

Lake Underhill Park will host Day After Earth Day at Lake Underhill beginning at 9:30 a.m. Saturday, where attendees can help out clean up the lake.

CASSELBERRY

EarthFest will take place on April 30 from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. at Lake Concord Park. Click here for more information.

SANFORD

Deviant Wolfe Brewing in Sanford, 121 W. First St., will host an Earth Day Festival from noon to 5 p.m. Saturday. Vendors and nonprofit organizations will be on hand.

CLERMONT

The city will host a 5-mile and 2-mile run and a Lake Clean Up Festival on Saturday that will include educational opportunities, a DJ, free food, giveaways and more. The event takes place with the lake cleanup beginning at 7:30 a.m. at Lake Hiawatha Preserve.

EATONVILLE

Earth Day in Eatonville will take place from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Eatonville Community Nook, 213 W. Kennedy Boulevard. There will be free seeds and seed starter supplies, family-friendly crafts, workshops, vegan food and more.

PALM COAST
