Here’s the latest in Disney, Central Florida Tourism district case

ORLANDO, Fla. — Editor’s note: This story is available as a result of a content partnership between WFTV and the Orlando Business Journal.

The state lawsuit filed by the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District against Walt Disney Parks & Resorts held an initial hearing July 14 related to Disney’s motion to have the case tossed out.

In the lawsuit, the Central Florida Tourism Oversight District is seeking a ruling that development agreements reached by Disney and the former Reedy Creek Improvement District board are “null and void.”

The agreements were approved in February shortly before Gov. Ron DeSantis and the state Legislature forced Disney’s governing Reedy Creek board to become the Central Florida Tourism Oversight board filled with governor appointees.
