Pockets of street flooding and lightning will be the main threats Tuesday, so be sure to take cover from any storms as they quickly pass.

After the initial band of storms passes your neighborhood, much quieter conditions will take you into the evening. But additional passing shower cannot be ruled out.

Hotter-than-normal weather and brief passing afternoon storms will be the pattern for the rest of the week.

The tropics are quiet for now, but Channel 9 is tracking four tropical waves moving across the Atlantic Basin.
