‘Incredible amount of strength’: More than Pink Walk raises funds for breast cancer research

ALTAMONTE SPRINGS, Fla. — People across Central Florida joined together to walk for a good cause Saturday morning.

Susan G. Komen’s More than Pink Walk in Altamonte Springs brought thousands of people to the area.

Everyone set off on the mile walk around Crane Roost Park and participated in entertainment and inspirational talks from breast cancer survivors.

“It takes an incredible amount of strength to go through this disease and put a smile on your face,” said Meredith Chambers, the event organizer.

Channel 9 Anchor Karla Ray was an emcee of the event.

All the money raised from the walk will go toward breast cancer research.
