BREVARD COUNTY, Fla. — Investigators are working to figure out how a body ended up in a Barefoot Bay pond.
A resident contacted the Sheriff's Office Monday after seeing vultures hovering over an area off Latan Court.
The sheriff's office doesn't even know if foul play was involved.
“They said they recovered an object and they weren't saying (what it was). They weren't even saying it was a crime yet. That's the most I heard,” said resident Greg Bard.
Investigators are still waiting on autopsy results to determine a cause of death.
“I'd like to know just out of curiosity. I don't think it's an indication of crime in the area,” said Bard.
Deputies said there were no obvious signs of trauma to the body, but until the Medical Examiner's Office completes its work, there's little else deputies can confirm.
