Lake County looks to juggle influx of people while preserving natural beauty

LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — County leaders are calling it a historic day for the future of Lake County.

On Monday, the county commission chairman met with managers and mayors from all 14 municipalities in the county to talk about planning for the massive influx of people expected to pour into Central Florida in the coming years.

The idea is for the county and all 14 municipalities to work together and agree on the best ways to manage growth and still maintain the natural beauty of its lakes, hills and forests.

All leaders agreed they want to try to make this happen. The county is hoping an agreement can be hammered out within the next year.
