LAKE COUNTY, Fla. — The driver of a Ford Five Hundred was killed after colliding with a Mack tractor-trailer on S.R. 33 north of Edgewood Boys Ranch Road.
The Ford Five Hundred was traveling southbound in the northbound lane of S.R. 33 when it entered the direct path of the northbound tractor-trailer.
The tractor-trailer driver swerved right to dodge an oncoming vehicle. This resulted in the front of the Ford Five Hundred hitting the tractor-trailer’s front, leading to the trailer overturning onto its right side on the outside shoulder.
The driver of the Ford Five Hundred was pronounced dead at the scene.
The tractor-trailer driver sustained minor injuries and was transported to South Lake Hospital. Authorities noted that the crash remains under investigation.
