Leesburg police investigate string of gas station robberies

LEESBURG, Fla. — Police in Leesburg are working to learn if multiple gas station robberies are connected.


The investigation started last week when officers said a man robbed a Murphy gas station on Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Boulevard.

Then on Sunday, a store clerk at the Sunoco on Main Street was robbed.

A similar robbery happened at a Marathon on 441 that same night.

Investigators believe both men were working together.
