Lightning-fast burglars targeting cellphone stores, police say

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — Video surveillance of an Osceola County Sprint store shows five burglars burst through a broken window, grab electronics and leave, all within 60 seconds.

In that time, they were able to make off with thousands of dollars worth of equipment and police believe the theft is part of a larger cellphone theft ring.

The burglars can be heard yelling to each other over the store’s alarm as they gathered armloads of electronics. And in the very short amount of time, they were also able to break into the store’s safe and make off with its contents.

The store on U.S. 192 in Kissimmee is one of several similar crimes committed in the area.

Some of the burglars had their faces covered while others did not. Based on the familiar faces in the surveillance footage and the efficiency of the burglary, investigators believe the group has hit stores before.
