ORLANDO, Fla. — A 21-year-old man is facing voyeurism charges after police said he recorded girls inside a bathroom at the University of Central Florida.

Jonathan Hui is charged with lewd and lascivious behavior and video voyeurism.

An arrest affidavit said Hui was caught Wednesday by one of the victims slipping a cellphone underneath a bathroom stall while she was on the toilet.

Police said a group of girls attending a cheerleading camp at the campus were inside a bathroom at the CFE Arena when one of the victims noticed a white Samsung Galaxy cellphone by her feet while she was using the restroom.

The victim told police that she walked out of the stall, and her other teammates saw the phone as well.

One of the girls told police she saw Hui in the stall and told him, “It is creepy and gross and you need to stop.”

The girls told their coach what was going on, and the coach then saw the man running out of the bathroom.

The coach and another staff member chased Hui.

As he was running, he told them, “I’m sorry, (I’ll) delete them now,” authorities said. Police said he ran through the arena, into Jimmy John's and out onto East Plaza Drive.

He ventured into Memory Mall and a student athlete who became involved in the chase was able to hold him until police arrived.

The witness told police that Hui appeared to be tinkering on his phone.

Hui was taken to the UCF Police Department, where he told officers that he thought it was funny to be in a restroom full of females so he decided to videotape it.

Police found a 40-second video on his phone of one of the girls, and said more might be found when the phone is examined further.

Hui may face additional charges after the investigation is complete.

"My reaction was pure disgust.” UCF Police Chief Richard Beary said during a news conference Thursday.

During the event, Beary awarded commemorative UCF police coins to a UCF football player and a cheerleading coach who held the suspect down.
