Man accused of molesting foster children to appear in court Monday

VOLUSIA COUNTY, Fla. — The man deputies say molested several foster children in his care is set to appear in court Monday.

Investigators said 50-year-old Lawrence Williams is accused of sexually molesting two young girls he was in charge of caring for.

Officials said that during the adoption process Williams answered questions appropriately, but not before making the foster agency, Neighbor to Family, uneasy.

Arrest documents show an employee reported he looked “extremely anxious” and wanted to foster young, white females. Williams passed a background check.

The agency has not commented on the charges.

Officials would not comment on the case but said the children were immediately removed from the home.

Williams is currently held at Volusia County Jail without bond.
