ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — A neighbor turned in a man who deputies said used his cellphone last week to capture images of young girls inside a Best Buy store on Orange Blossom Trail.
Orange County deputies said James Jones, 44, was caught on surveillance video at the Best Buy across from the Florida Mall.
The surveillance video shows Jones squatting near a girl who was playing a video game in the store. Officials said Jones then used a smartphone to film up the underage girls' skirts without them knowing.
"These girls had skirts that they were wearing or a small dress, and they were under 10 years of age," said Capt. Angelo Nieves with Orange County Sheriff's Office.
Jones' neighbor, Ralph Lackey, said his daughter called deputies after seeing the surveillance video on the news.
Investigators said when they showed up to Jones' mother's home, where Jones lives, she, too, identified him as the man in the video.
Investigators said they found 21 marijuana plants growing in a backyard shed of the home.
Authorities confiscated Jones' phone and computer during his arrest. Jones has been charged with video voyeurism.
