Man accused of recording upskirt video of teen at Alafaya Trail Publix

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County deputies arrested an Orlando man they said used a small pen-like device to record video up a teenage girl's skirt at a Publix grocery store in June.

Roger A. Strong, 60, was arrested Friday morning at his home on Blackwater Pond Drive in Waterford Lakes and charged with video voyeurism.

According to investigators, the girl said she was standing at the magazine rack of the Publix near the intersection of Alafaya Trail and Curry Ford Road when a man approached.

Investigators said the man, holding a small device that looked like a pen, crouched on the floor next to the girl.

The girl said she felt as though the man was using the device to look up her skirt. She told investigators that she walked away from the man, who then left the store.

Investigators said the girl's mother told the store manager about the incident and the manager called deputies.

Surveillance video was released in July in hopes of identifying the man. Investigators said a tip through CrimeLine eventually led them to Strong.

When detectives showed up at Strong's home they asked him if he knew why they wanted to question him.

Reports show he muttered, "Umm, yeah. I saw the TV."

Authorities said Strong gave them the device he was suspected of using in the case. They also took a laptop computer from his home but haven't said whether they found anything on it.

Strong's sister-in-law said the family saw the surveillance video from the store and told Channel 9 they were shocked.

Strong's arrest, however, was no surprise to his neighbors, who told Channel 9 they had a strong suspicion the man in the video was him.

"When I seen it, I was like, 'Oh, my God,'" said neighbor Wendy Rivera.

Strong is being held in the Orange County Jail.
