ST. PETE, Fla. — A Utah man died in Florida after being struck by lightning while riding a jet ski off the coast of St. Petersburg, according to a GoFundMe page created in his memory.
The page identifies the man as Steve Matheson. It says Matheson was riding a jet ski Saturday off the coast of St. Pete when he was struck by lightning.
Matheson was taken to a hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
The GoFundMe page was created to help Matheson’s family with expenses following his death.
