Gov. DeSantis tours tornado damage in Marion County, announces millions in aid for residents

OCALA, Fla. — Gov. Ron DeSantis announced Friday that more than $29 million is available to people in Marion County impacted by last weekend’s severe weather, which included a tornado.

The governor was in Ocala on Friday to take a closer look at damage.

He said the state has also requested federal funding to help those impacted by the EF-1 tornado.

It was on the ground for more than 30 minutes, going 25 miles from Dunnellon to Ocala.

There were no reports of anyone being hurt.
