More than 60 firefighters respond to fire inside Dollar General store in Ocala

OCALA, Fla. — A total of 20 units and 63 personnel from Marion County Fire Rescue and the Ocala Fire Department responded Friday after a fire broke out inside of a Dollar General store.

Firefighters arrived at around 10:30 a.m. to the Dollar General on NE 35th Street in Ocala.

First responders were told a shelf was on fire inside the location and saw smoke coming from the front door of the building.

Firefighters said they immediately deployed a hose line to make entry and extinguish the flames.

An investigation into the cause of the fire is ongoing, officials said.
