Meteorologists watching tropical disturbance near Florida Panhandle

ORLANDO, Fla. — Meteorologists are watching a tropical disturbance just offshore of the Florida Panhandle.

The National Hurricane Center said gradual development is possible if it remains offshore through the middle to the latter part of the week.

Regardless of development, the system will bring heavy rain to portions of the northern Gulf Coast from Louisiana to the Florida Panhandle over the next several days.
