Mother of slain pregnant woman says she felt 'anger' seeing accused killer

ORLANDO, Fla. — Accused killer Markeith Loyd faced a judge Thursday, where he went on a profanity-laced rant.

Loyd faced the judge on charges of shooting and killing his pregnant ex-girlfriend, Sade Dixon, last year.

Loyd's family, along with a victim’s family, were in attendance.

, spoke with Channel 9 after the hearing. She said seeing her daughter’s alleged killer was a “burden.”

"It was anger, frustration," said Daniels. "Could not believe what I saw in the courtroom. It just shows his ignorance. But justice is going to prevail. I believe in the justice system, and I'm excited for him to stand trial."

After the hearing, Loyd's family members would not comment on the case as they left the courthouse.

Loyd is also accused of shooting and killing Orlando police Lt. Debra Clayton outside a Pine Hills Walmart on Jan.9. Loyd has not yet been charged in that case.

Loyd remains in the Orange County Jail without bail.
