Motorcyclist dies after Osceola County crash, troopers say

OSCEOLA COUNTY, Fla. — A motorcyclist has died following a crash Saturday afternoon, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Troopers said the crash happened around 3:30 p.m. in Osceola County.

According to a news release, a Toyota Corolla was traveling southbound on North Poinciana Boulevard, approaching Calypso Cay Way in the left lane.

A Honda motorcycle was traveling northbound on the same road and approached the intersection in the outside lane.

Investigators said the driver tried to make a left turn but crossed directly into the motorcycle’s path and hit them.

The 56-year-old man who drove the motorcycle was transported to Osceola Regional Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

The Toyota driver, a 64-year-old man, was not hurt. The other passengers in the Toyota, including a 45-year-old woman and a 94-year-old man, suffered minor injuries.

FHP said the crash remains under investigation.
