Here’s what you need to know about the curfew:

Why is the city considering the curfew?

New Smyrna Beach police said they have seen a dramatic increase in juvenile crime after dark.

Last year, the department noted an increase of 89% in the arrests of minors.

City officials believe the move would help curb crime and deter large gatherings in public areas.
