KISSIMMEE, Fla. — An 8-year-old Kissimmee girl has received a specialized activity chair designed to provide greater comfort and support throughout her day.
Hannah was diagnosed with spastic quadriplegic cerebral palsy when she was 1 year old. Because she has limited trunk control, she cannot safely use a standard chair.
The new chair provides supportive positioning during meals, activities and other daily routines. Its adjustable lateral supports also help with Hannah’s posture, scoliosis and pressure relief while giving her an alternative to sitting in her wheelchair.
“We are so appreciative of you guys being able to help us,” Hannah’s family said. “It has already helped so much with Hannah having alternative seating outside of her wheelchair.”
Hannah enjoys watching “Bluey,” swimming, taking walks with her family and singing along to Disney music in the car. Her favorite school subjects are art and music.
Wheelchairs 4 Kids provided the chair with financial support from the Gerner Family Charitable Foundation.
The nonprofit provides wheelchairs, adaptive equipment and home and vehicle modifications to children with physical disabilities at no cost to their families.
