Officials break ground on new SunRail station; see where

DELAND, Fla. — SunRail is extending its reach northward with a new station in DeLand.

Officials gathered to break ground on the new DeLand SunRail Station, located at 2491 Old New York Ave., on Monday morning.

The new station will extend SunRail service by adding 12.2 miles from the DeBary Station up to DeLand. SunRail currently has 16 stations from DeBary to Poinciana along a 49-mile corridor.

Officials said the DeLand Station will be the 17th, fulfilling the original vision for 17 stations in the SunRail Commuter Rail System across Central Florida.
