ORLANDO, Fla. — Opera Orlando will present a new production of Giacomo Puccini’s opera “Madame Butterfly” on Oct. 2, 3, and 4, 2026. The performances will take place in Steinmetz Hall at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts.
The production kicks off Opera Orlando’s season with evening performances at 7:30 p.m. on Oct. 2 and 3, followed by a matinee at 2 p.m. on Oct. 4. Ahead of opening night, Opera Orlando is offering three behind-the-scenes events through its More of the MainStage series to give audiences an immersive look at the staging.
Soprano Yeawon Jun stars in the title role of Puccini’s opera. Tenor Isaac Hurtado portrays Lt. Pinkerton, while mezzo-soprano Yoojin Lee performs as Suzuki.
The cast also includes tenor Brad Bickhardt as the matchmaker Goro and bass Zaikuan Song as Bonzo. Gabriel Preisser, general director of Opera Orlando and a Grammy Award-winning baritone, performs as Sharpless, the American consul.
