UPDATE: Orange County deputies identify victim in deadly shooting

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Orange County deputies are investigating a deadly shooting.

Deputies said the shooting happened Sunday at about 11:30 p.m.

They initially said the shooting happened on Texas Avenue near Pine Street, but further investigation determined it happened in the 400 block of Buchan Road.

Later, a woman flagged down deputies outside the Orange County Sheriff’s Office Central Operations building claiming her friend was shot.

Deputies said a man suffered at least one gunshot wound to his body and was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

The victim has been identified by the sheriff’s office as 29-year-old Ardia Junior Emanuel Thompson.

The shooting remains under investigation.
