2 men fatally shot at South Apopka home less than a week apart, deputies say

APOPKA, Fla. — Orange County deputies are investigating a deadly shooting in South Apopka.

Around 11 p.m. Saturday, deputies swarmed the area off Ella J. Gilmore Street off Ocoee-Apopka Road.

Upon arrival, deputies said they found 42-year-old Maurice Bridges with trauma to his body. The man was taken to Advent Health Apopka, where he was pronounced dead.

Deputies continue to search for a suspect.

This is the second fatal shooting at the home in less than a week.

On New Year’s Day, 40-year-old Altonio Dunston was killed there.

It is not known if the shootings are connected.

On Dec. 30, 19-year-old Ahmad Alonzo Davis was found dead on the nearby West Orange Trail.

The investigations are ongoing.

The Orange County Sheriff’s Office provided Channel 9 with the following statement:

“We want to make sure our residents and visitors know that the Orange County Sheriff’s Office believes these were targeted acts of violence, and that the incidents were not random. We have increased patrols and there is a law enforcement saturation plan for the area.”
