ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Officials say a home in the Fern Creek community was destroyed in a fire early Sunday morning.
Fire crews responded to the home on the 1800 block of Fern Creek Avenue around 1:15 a.m. Dispatchers received a 911 call from a neighbor who stated flames could be seen coming from the roof.
Once on scene, firefighters say the Orange County home was engulfed in flames. Fortunately, crews were able to put out the fire in roughly ten minutes, according to officials.
No one was injured in the fire and the homeowner was not home when the fire broke out. The Red Cross is assisting three adult residents and a baby with temporary housing.
The cause of the fire remains under investigation and the State Fire Marshal was called out.
