2 teens struck by SUV while crossing Orange County road

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. — Two teenagers were struck while they were crossing an Orange County road on Tuesday morning, the Florida Highway Patrol said.

Just before 7 a.m., troopers said the two 14-year-old girls were hit as they were crossing Goldenrod Road at Valencia College Lane.

The Florida Highway Patrol said they were struck by a 59-year-old Orlando woman driving a 2021 Ford Bronco, traveling southbound on Goldenrod Road.

The driver said she had a green light and the teenagers darted out in front of her car. One of the teenagers said the traffic light at Goldenrod was red and that they had the signal to cross.

The teenagers were taken to a hospital, where they are in stable condition.

The crash remains under investigation.
