Hideaway Bar General Manager Tiffani Thomas said staff and people in the neighborhood are devastated by the crash. She said it sounded like gunshots.

“They thought somebody was shooting up the front of the building,” Thomas said. “My staff in the kitchen heard the noise, ducked and then saw the customers running out the back door.”

Jared Knebel said he was next to the driver in the bar and saw the person get pulled out of the car.

“I was just sitting next to this person for like two to three hours,” Knebel said. (I) did not see this coming.”
