Happening today: Community vigil to be held to honor 50K Floridians who died of COVID-19 in Florida

ORLANDO, Fla. — A community vigil will be held on Tuesday evening in Orlando to acknowledge the 50,000 Floridians who have died of COVID-19.

Commissioner Bakari Burns and faith leaders will host the vigil at 6 p.m.

It will be held at the Mt. Pleasant Missionary Baptist Church at 4077 Prince Hall Blvd.

Burns said he has called faith leaders together to offer words of comfort, encouragement and hope for the future.

Those who attend will also be able to get a COVID-19 vaccine or test if needed.

The Orange Blossom Family Heath’s mobile unit will be offering the services from 4:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
